The aim of the research was to test the hypotheses that there is
differentiation by gender in the management roles of deputy heads in
secondary schools; that such differentiation is widespread; that deputies
are still being appointed to stereotyped roles which may consequently
disadvantage women in terms of promotion. [Continues.]
