Hilary Robinson is Professor of Feminism, Art, and Theory and Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training: Feminism, Sexual Politics, and Visual Culture, at Loughborough University, England. She has BA Fine Art, U of Newcastle; MA in Cultural History, Royal College of Art; PhD Art Theory, U of Leeds). At the U of Ulster (1992-2005) she taught history and theory of contemporary art to studio Fine & Applied Art students at BA, MFA, and PhD levels. She became Head of School and Professor of the Politics of Art. In 2005 she was appointed Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon U, Pittsburgh, PA. While in Pittsburgh her board memberships included The Andy Warhol Museum; Silver Eye Centre for Photography and The Mattress Factory Museum. She headed the Creative Entrepreneurs project, to retain artists in post-industrial Pittsburgh. She moved back to the UK in 2012 to be Dean, School of Art & Design, Middlesex U, before moving to Loughborough 2017.
