The thesis describes the general concepts of interfacing
the geometrical description of a car body and the internal structure
with the corresponding finite element model. The work was
carried out on collaboration with the Austin Rover Group (ARG),
Cowley, and a three month period was spent with the company to
gain understanding of the underlying problem. [Continues.]
